Use Digest Insight to add an AI summary to a digest

Who can use this feature

Rights: Administrator.

Location: the Digests page, under Admin, in the digest editor, section AI Insight

Setup: the feature has to be enabled for your company by your Diduenjoy contact. Until it is, the AI Insight section does not appear in the editor.

Overview

The people you send a digest to are the ones least likely to read it section by section. Digest Insight adds a short summary at the top of the email, written from the data the digest already contains, so a regional manager gets the period's takeaways in the first three lines. There is no prompt to write and no text to maintain: each subscriber receives their own summary, generated at send time from the data within their own scope and written in their language.

Enable the summary on a digest

1. Open the digest. Go to the Digests page, under Admin, and click Edit on the digest you want.

2. Check that the digest qualifies. Two conditions have to hold. The digest is sent at a frequency other than daily, and it contains at least one section that is neither Responses list nor Button, since a summary needs figures to summarise.

3. Go to the AI Insight section. It sits between Language and Content.

4. Turn the summary on. Click Enable AI Insight. The toggle turns green. If it is greyed out, the italic line underneath says which condition is missing: switch the frequency to weekly or longer, or add a section that carries data.

If you later change the digest so that it stops qualifying, the toggle switches itself off and the digest is saved that way, so check it after reworking a digest's sections.

1. Publish. Click Publish, or Update on a live digest. At the next send, each subscriber receives the digest with its summary at the top, followed by the sections unchanged.

The editor preview shows a placeholder rather than a real summary, because the text is produced at send time for each subscriber. Use Send test email to see what a subscriber actually receives, and expect two subscribers of the same digest to receive different summaries when their data scopes differ.

What this feature does not do

• The summary cannot be edited, rewritten or overridden, and it cannot be moved: it is always at the top of the email.

• The summary is built only from the data already present in the digest's own sections. It does not go looking elsewhere.

• On a period with no data, no summary is added, even when Do not send if there is no data is off. If the generation fails, the digest is sent without the summary rather than held back.

• Digest Insight is not the same feature as the AI summaries on a tag in Text analytics. The two are enabled separately, and a tag summary cannot be placed in a digest.
