Rights: administrator, to set the filters that are saved with a report. Any user who can open a report can narrow its display with the global filters, which changes nothing in the report itself.
Location: Custom Reports, inside a report
Setup: for a filter on one level of the hierarchy, a report with at least one field in Rows.
Overview
A custom report takes three kinds of filter: a KPI condition on one level of its hierarchy, a selection of field values across the whole report, and the dashboard's global filters. The first two are saved with the report and the third is not, which is why the same report can show different figures to you and to the colleague you shared it with.
Filter one level of the hierarchy on a KPI
- Open the table editor. In the report, click
Edit Table. The button appears for administrators only.
- Open the filter of the field. In Rows, click the filter icon next to the level you want to restrict.
- Set the condition. Define the KPI condition to apply, for example NPS > 80 on Store Label, which keeps only the stores above that score. The filter belongs to the field: remove the field from Rows and its filter goes with it, so there is nothing separate to delete.
- Apply. Click
Applyto close the dialog and update the report. The table and its chart view now show only the matching data.

Filter the whole report on field values
- Open the filter panel. Click
+ Add Filter, above the table. The control belongs to the edition side of a report, so administrators are the only ones who see it.
- Choose a field and its values. Select the field to filter on, then tick the values you want to keep, for example a subset of your surveys.
- Save the report to keep them. The filter applies as soon as values are selected, with no confirmation to click, and
Clear allremoves every active filter at once. These filters belong to the report: save it and everyone who opens it afterwards gets the same ones.
Narrow the display without changing the report
The classic global filters and the date range at the top of your dashboard also apply to a custom report, and this is the distinction worth holding on to: they change what you are looking at, for the length of your session, and they are never stored in the report. Only the two filters above are saved with it. A colleague opening the same report therefore sees it with its saved filters, not with the ones you were using.
This is also the only way to narrow a report for a user whose role holds the Read right on Custom reports: the edition side of a report, both Edit Table and + Add Filter, is not shown to them.
