Overview

A survey gets answered when the message carrying it looks like it comes from you, reads in the recipient's language, and arrives on the channel they actually use. Rebuilding that message for every dispatch is slow, and your branding drifts from one campaign to the next. A template holds the message once, for email, SMS or WhatsApp, with all of its languages, and you select it at the moment you dispatch a survey. One template can serve as many surveys as you need, and templates are shared across your whole company rather than scoped to a team or a touchpoint.

Create a template

  1. Open the templates list. Go to the Templates page, under Content in the sidebar, then click + Create a template.
  1. Name the template. Under Basic Information, fill in the Name field. The name is required and has to be unique in your company: a duplicate name blocks the save without displaying a message.
  1. Choose the channel. In Template type, select Email (selected by default), SMS or WhatsApp. WhatsApp has to be activated on your workspace, so contact your CSM if the value is missing from the list.
  1. Choose the email mode. For an email template, Email type offers Basic, the form builder that covers branding, content and redirection, and Custom, where you supply your own HTML instead.
  1. Fill in the content of your default language. The default language is the one set on your user account. The Text field is required for every language you add. The preview on the right of the form follows what you type and switches to match the channel.
  1. Add your other languages. A template that is missing one of a survey's languages at dispatch reopens the editor so you can complete it before sending, as described in Untitled.
  1. Save. Click Save at the top right. While a required field is missing, the button stays disabled and a yellow banner lists each missing item, for example "Missing name" or "Missing content for language: FR". There is no autosave and Cancel discards your changes without asking for confirmation. On success you return to the templates list, where the new template appears with no confirmation message.
